For those who see the title of this post and instantly think, what the hell is a Bad Lieutenant flick doing on a horror site.  Lemme tell you.

First off, the acting of Nic Cage in the last handful of years has been nothing short of downright terrifying.  Secondly, when Werner Herzog is at the helm, you know some ghastly or at least some emotionally shattering shit is about to go down.  Third, there is something awfully unsettling about a high ranking cop more concerned about landing scores of dope than he is helping post-Katrina victims, which is exactly what Cage does in Bad Lieutenant: Port Call of New Orleans.

And then there's Val Kilmer.

Just take a look at the trailer below and tell me you don't want to see this.  Seriously!

Another monday means another kickass murder movie around these parts.  And we're certainly pulling no punches with this one, the 1988 gore-bash Night of the Demons

For those a little cloudy, the flick finds 10 teenagers who convene in the infamous "Hull House" to hold a seance.  Little do they know that such a ceremony only summons a deadly demon who dwells in the basement.  As you can imagine, each of the ten teens starts dropping like stones until someone can figure out what the hell is going on and do something about it.

Directed by Kevin Tenney (Witchboard, The Cellar) from a Joe Augustyn script (Night Angel) - Night of the Demons stars Alvin Alexis, Allison Barron, Lance Fenton, Billy Gallo, Hal Havins and one of the all time great horror mistresses, Linnea Quigley.  Peep the full flick below!

So the new Megan Fox flick Jennifer's Body undresses theaters this weekend.  Here's a grip of TV spots and a behind the scenes featurette to make your blood boil.  Peep it!

After being acquired by Paramount following a successfully terrifying screening at the Telluride Film Festival, indie-spook darling Paranormal Activity has a cool new trailer for all to look at.  In the flick, one made on a shoestring of $11,000, sees an otherwise happy couple become haunted by a string of strange phenomena in their new house.

The films wrieter/director, Oren Peli, based his simple yet devastatingly effective haunted house tale on happenings of his own.  In fact, he shot the flick in his own pad, using practical unknown actors who are said to bring a purity, an honesty to their roles, making the flick that much more eerie.  You be the judge though, take a peek at the trailer underneath!

From Mike Dougherty, writer of X2, comes his long awaited Haloween horror flick Trick r' Treat.  The flick is said to boast a Pulp Fiction type fractured narrative, where 4 interwoven stories of terror play like a weird and twisted ass anthology.  In specific, each scenario as follows:

An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.

Count me in, is really all I have to add.  Especially if Brian Cox, the original Hannibal Lector gets a juicy part (as the principal, I think) and kills a whole troupe of teenagers.  Ah yes, count me in!

Feel free to peep the new trailer underneath!

Man oh man, this Pandorum flick is really boasting quite an impressive marketing team.  With mere weeks from being in theaters, we have yet another cool, mindbending clip to taunt and tease us all.  In it Ben Foster looks like he's shitting his shorts as he tries to evade, or at least remain undiscovered, by some kind of alien life form.

Costarring of course is Dennis Quaid, as well as Cam Gigandet, Antje Traue, Cung Li and Norman Reedus.

Pandorum opens wide September 25th.  Snag a look at the clip underneath!

In lieu of a new trailer for George A. Romero's promising new zombie ode Survival of the Dead, here's a delicious piece of dessert to cleanse the pallet after last nights helping.  Another cool little tie-in featurette to hold us over until its release.  See the clip underneath!

In the horror field, there are really only a handful of select names that warrant excitement with every new film they make.  And since it's been awhile since the critically lambasted last effort, Diary of the Dead, the master of zombie cinema George A. Romero is poised to return to his hardened roots with his new island-terror flick Survival of the Dead

Set to hit the Toronto Film Festival next week, Survival focuses on a group of locals trying to fend off a horde of rabid zombies before they take over the entire island.  Like most of Romero's work, the flick stars relatively unknowns, including: Devon Bostick, Alan Van Sprang, Kathleen Munroe, Kenneth Welsh, Julian Richings, and Athena Karkanis.  Feel free to nab a look at the fresh trailer below!

It's been a good week for horror films.  The Final Destination, regardless of its quality, has reached the number 1 spot at the box-office.  Rob Zombie's second take on Halloween found itself 3rd at the box-office (wedeged in between them at 2 is Inglourious Basterds - a bloody, gory film, and District 9, also at times frightening, has stayed strong in the 4 hole).

Well now, with 1 week to the day from being released (the 11th), the hottie-filled horror flick Sorority Row has a nifty little international trailer for us to ogle at.  Keep your eyes out for a pissed off Princess Leia getting her kill on!

With a tad over 2 weeks from release (the 18th), the predominantly female driven horror/comedy Jennifer's Body has a few things for us to see before the film is in theaters.  In particular, everyone's it girl, the smoldering Megan Fox!  Courtesy of ET, the good peeps over at 20th Century Fox have issued a near 4 minute b-roll interview with cast and crew, including the equally impressive co-star Amanda Seyfried.  Take a look at the clip below!
