In the horror field, there are really only a handful of select names that warrant excitement with every new film they make. And since it's been awhile since the critically lambasted last effort, Diary of the Dead, the master of zombie cinema George A. Romero is poised to return to his hardened roots with his new island-terror flick Survival of the Dead.
Set to hit the Toronto Film Festival next week, Survival focuses on a group of locals trying to fend off a horde of rabid zombies before they take over the entire island. Like most of Romero's work, the flick stars relatively unknowns, including: Devon Bostick, Alan Van Sprang, Kathleen Munroe, Kenneth Welsh, Julian Richings, and Athena Karkanis.
