Harold Ramis, who played Dr. Egon Spengler in the classic 1984 horror/comedy Ghostbusters, is also the man behind some of the all time greatest comedies (Caddyshack, Vacation, Groundhog Day, etc.).  And now, after months of speculation regarding a third Ghostbusters film, the man behind the madness (as well as the critically drubbed new comedy Year One) has sat down to divulge quite a bit on the return of the proton packs.  Thanks to the great folks over at MakingOf (www.makingof.com/), Ramis expounds on the new look of the film, how they plan to use computer generation to make a decidedly low-fi look that harks back to the original.  In addition, Ramis discusses info regarding casting, where the status of the script currently stands (titled as Ghostbusters in Hell), even motivation behind the return such beloved characters.  All I know is – if Ramis doesn’t make an appearance as Spengler in that sickening bedraggled beard, I won’t watch the damn flick.  Seriously though!

I can't believe they're actually making another Ghostbusters movie. Personally, I can't wait. The idea of Murray, Ramis, and the rest of the gang (who are all old and quite fat now with the exception of Murray) trying to squeeze into their old uniforms to fight ghosts is hilarious.

I hope that rumor about Jack Black being a new recruit turns out to be true.

He hardly talks about Ghostbusters 3. Still cool to see that the movie is going to happen. Anything they make will be better than Ghostbusters 2.
