After many months of speculation as to who would don the dirty Christmas sweater and a fist full of knives in the Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, the folks over at Bloody-Disgusting have pretty much ascertained the man to be none other than Jackie Earle Haley.  That's right, the kid that once smoked cigs as a teen on his motorcycle and was launching homers off Tatum O'neal (Bad News Bears) - the man who recently locked an Oscar nod (Little Children) and played a major part in Watchmen - will now try to replace Robert Englund as immortal horror villain Freddy Krueger.  From what we understand, the deal is being made official and should be made public sometime next week.  Phew, the wait is over.  Hopefully.

Well, he was pretty badass as Rorschach in Watchmen. I'm still pissed that blue asshole killed him in the end of the movie

True that. Tho, if they go through with the Freddy remake they should get Johnny Depp to come back for a cameo.

Yeah, never read Watchmen before seeing the movie, though I probably should now.

Being a Robert Englund fan, I thought I would be pissed if they got someone else but I think Jackie is a great choice! Course it does seem like he is getting type cast as the child molester lol (or maybe not)....and as for Johnny I'm not sure I can deal with him coming back after Freddy's Dead. That movie was awful!
