Killer automobiles are hardly an original idea in the horror genre. Films like John Carpenter's Christine, Maximum Overdrive, Duel, are all high-profile horror flicks about cars going on murderous rampages. Later on this year, Eric Valette (One Missed Call) is bringing yet another film to theaters about a killer car--and this one's a hybrid. After watching the trailer, I have to say that this doesn't look as horrible as it sounds. The action looks surprisingly top-notch for a movie with such a dopey premise. Watch the trailer for Hybrid (2009) below and decide for yourself.

You know, you're right. I wasn't expecting a lot from the premise (or the goofy title) but the trailer almost kinda works. The idea of a team of kick-ass mechanics taking on a killer transforming car could be a pretty amusing take on the old standard of scientists fighting a biological/chemical menace.

Yeah, it does look like it could work as a fun action-horror movie. As long as it doesn't go all Transformers halfway through the movie.

What does your username mean by the way? It reminds me of Kool Aid.

Haha, that's actually the first time I've heard that one (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm kind of surprised by it actually). It's the name of a minor character from a manga I liked back in the stone ages. I've long since lost interest in the manga but the name stuck because most of my friends (many of whom have now become my co-workers) know me by it moreso than my real name.
