More in the vein of a violent thriller than a conventional horror premise, Donkey Punch marks the feature length debut film for British director Oliver Blackburn. Here we have a sextet of attractive British chaps (3 guys, 3 girls actually) who meet up in a club, down some booze, and retreat to the opulent yacht the dudes seem to have access to. Once there and partying hard, one of the girls imbibes some kind of narcotic aphrodisiac (dubiously labeled "donkey punch") that springboards a series of violent erotic masochism. As shit starts to spiral downward, all kinds of hell break loose - pitting the girls versus their possibly malevolent male counterparts. Donkey Punch premiered at Sundance last January, enjoyed a screening at Fantastic Fest in September, and is set to hit limited U.S. theaters on January 23, 2009. I haven't seen it yet but Donkey Punch is already my favorite horror movie's name ever.
