Gametrailers has just unveiled a brand-new trailer for the upcoming horror action game, Splatterhouse. The video starts out with real footage of a table strewn with bloodied instruments like butcher knives and machetes, a scene reminiscent of trailers used for the promotion of Hostel: Part II. The video then briefly shows Splatterhouse's Jason-mask sporting protagonist Rick ripping the head off an enemy, shown as in game footage. The trailer doesn't show much beyond that, but it's still worth a watch.

Check out GamePro's preview of Splatterhouse to fill you in on all the gory details on the game.

Hope it will be fun, only thing I didn't like is that voice actor that said "I'll save you Jennifer".

Yeah. Haha. That was kind of cheesy.

I loved the original Splatterhouse--so gooey and over-the-top. With a next-gen facelift, this game could be awesome.

Never played the original game, so I'm not worried about that. I did play Mark Of Kri, a game made by the same studio that is working on Splatterhouse, and it was pretty fun. Lots of combos and weapons and other fun stuff, I guess Splatter will be something like that.

Oh and that reminds me... you guys are OLD! ;)

This is SO unnecessary. Of course they turned the protagonist into some ludicrous, nightmarish freak so bloated with excess testosterone that heavy steroid users would cower with fear in its presence. Seriously, it's like Bane had a hideous lovechild with Jason Voorhees and then they both beat the hell out of him with a cricket bat and gave him an emotional complex, leading to an adolescence lifting weights and muttering about how he'd "show them". Splatterhouse was pretty campy and tongue-in-cheek, from what I remember. This just looks like someone aborted their shitty comic book idea into a video.

Oh, and it's nice to be back after not commenting on anything for a few months. :D
